If your EventLive stream is interrupted, what happens to your recording depends on the reason for the interruption. Here’s what you need to know and what to do in each situation.
If the Internet Connection Drops
The EventLive app will keep trying to reconnect automatically.
While there is no internet, the app keeps recording a backup video locally on your device in high quality.
When the connection is restored, the stream will continue for your viewers.
If the stream does not reconnect, you can upload the local recording to your event page later in the Reupload Video tab.
If You Leave the App, Open Another App, or Answer a Call
If you open another app, tap a notification, or answer a phone call, the EventLive app will stop streaming and stop recording.
If you don't answer the phone call or tap the message, the live stream should continue. We usually recommend putting the phone in "Do Not Disturb" mode for the duration of the live stream.
You will need to reopen the EventLive app and start the livestream again.
If Your Device Goes Offline or Shuts Down
If your device shuts down or loses power, the broadcast will stop.
You can restart your device and go live again for the same event. Your guests will be notified when you are live again.
If the Stream is Paused
When you pause the stream, it is not streaming or recording.
The phone may go to sleep while the stream is paused.
To continue, simply start the livestream again in the app and tap "Continue" button.
How to Upload a Local Recording After an Interruption
Open the EventLive app and go to your event details.
Tap on the Manage Video / Reupload Video tab.
Choose the local recording from your device.
The video will be uploaded to the same event link for your guests to view.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your upload gets stuck, check your internet connection and try again.
If you have multiple recordings due to interruptions, please combine them into one video first and then upload the final video to EventLive.
If you are in an area with poor internet, don’t worry: your device will save a high-quality backup.
Important Notes
The app only records while it is open and streaming. If you leave the app or answer a call, recording stops.
You can go live multiple times for the same event within 24 hours.
All recordings stay online for a year for your guests to watch.
Additional Tips
To avoid interruptions, turn on Do Not Disturb mode and avoid opening other apps during your stream.
Make sure your device is fully charged or plugged in during your event.
