Minimum Upload Speed for Streaming

  • You need at least 3 Mbps upload speed to stream live video smoothly with EventLive.

  • The stream will work with lower speeds, but the video quality will be reduced automatically.

Recommended Upload Speeds for Different Qualities

  • For good quality (720p): At least 3 Mbps upload speed is recommended.

  • For Full HD (1080p): At least 5 Mbps upload speed is recommended. 10 Mbps is ideal for the best stability.

  • The app will adapt to your available upload speed, but higher speeds allow for better quality.

How to Check Your Upload Speed

  1. Connect your device to the internet you plan to use for streaming (WiFi, 4G, or 5G).

  2. Open a speed test website or app (like Speedtest.net).

  3. Run the test and look for the upload speed result.

  4. Compare your upload speed to the recommendations above.

How to Set Streaming Quality in EventLive

  • By default, EventLive streams in 720p.

  • To stream in 1080p (Full HD), you need to turn on the 1080p option in the app settings.

  • Note: On Android, streaming is currently limited to 720p.

Data Usage Estimates

  • Normal quality (720p): About 1 GB per hour of streaming.

  • Highest quality (1080p): About 3 GB per hour of streaming.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If your stream quality drops or buffers, check your upload speed again.

  • Try switching to a different network (for example, from WiFi to 4G/5G) if your upload speed is too low.

  • Make sure no one else is using a lot of bandwidth on the same network during your event.

  • If you want to stream in 1080p, make sure your upload speed is at least 5 Mbps, and turn on 1080p in the app settings.

Important Notes

  • EventLive does not support streaming in 4K, even if your device can record in 4K.

  • The maximum streaming quality is 1080p.

  • For professional cameras or encoders, upload speed requirements may vary based on your settings.

Additional Tips

  • Always test your internet connection at your event location before going live.

  • If possible, use a wired internet connection for the most stable upload speed.

  • If you have a very high upload speed (for example, 95 Mbps), you can stream at the highest quality without issues.
