If you are experiencing lag, freezing, stuttering, or low video quality during your EventLive stream, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve poor signal issues.
Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection
Make sure you have a strong and stable internet connection.
Test your upload speed. We recommend at least 5 Mbps upload for smooth streaming.
If you are using Wi-Fi, try moving closer to the router or switch to a wired connection if possible.
Avoid moving around too much while streaming, as signal strength can change in different locations.
Step 2: Monitor Your Streaming Equipment
Double-check that your streaming device (camera, encoder, or app) is connected properly.
If you are using multiple internet sources (like LTE lines), ensure all are active and stable.
If you are streaming a static image or slideshow, your data rate may appear low. This is normal and not a problem.
Step 3: Restart Your Stream
If you notice freezing, stop the stream and restart it.
Wait a few seconds before starting again to allow your connection to reset.
Step 4: Ask Viewers to Refresh
If guests report lag or freezing, ask them to refresh the event page.
Sometimes, a simple refresh can resolve playback issues for viewers.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your upload speed drops during the event, video quality may decrease or frames may drop.
If you see pixelation or stuttering, check your internet connection and try to avoid moving your streaming device.
If you are using a hardware encoder (like ATEM Mini Pro or VidiU Go), make sure it is set up correctly and connected to a reliable network.
Important Notes
Post-stream playback is usually smooth, even if there were live issues. This means your video was received by EventLive, but delivery to viewers may have been affected by internet speed or local device issues.
Additional Tips
Test your setup before the event with the same equipment and internet connection.
If you experience issues only during the live event but not during tests, check for changes in your environment (more people using Wi-Fi, moving locations, etc.).
Keep your streaming device stationary and close to your internet source for best results.
