Issues with Livestream Freezing or Cutting Out During an Event

If your livestream is freezing, cutting out, or not playing back smoothly, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.


If you are the host of the event:

Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection

A strong and stable internet connection is essential for smooth streaming.

  • Make sure you have a reliable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

  • If possible, use a dedicated internet connection for streaming.

  • Avoid moving your device too far from the Wi-Fi router.

  • If you are using mobile data, ensure you have a strong signal (4G or 5G).

Important: Poor internet connection is the most common cause of freezing or interruptions during a livestream.


Step 2: Avoid Backgrounding the App

  • Keep the EventLive app open and active during your entire stream.

  • Do not switch to other apps

  • If the app is backgrounded, the stream may stop or freeze


Step 3: Check for Stuck or Frozen Streams

Sometimes, a stream can get stuck in a "live" state or freeze.

  • If you cannot stop the livestream or it appears frozen, try closing and reopening the EventLive app.

  • If the issue continues, contact EventLive support to reset the stream status


If you are the viewer / guest:

  • Most of the buffering issues are related to poor internet connection on location.

  • Please contact the host of the event and ask them to switch to a different internet connection if possible.

  • The host of the event will have a recording and will be able to upload it to the same link after the event.
