EventLive does not currently offer closed captioning as part of our player. However, you can use the built-in closed captioning features available in the latest versions of Chrome or Safari browsers to add captions to your live stream. This is a helpful workaround for viewers who are hard of hearing.

Using Chrome for Built-In Closed Captioning

  1. Open the latest version of Chrome on your computer.

  2. Go to your EventLive stream page.

  3. Turn on Live Caption in Chrome:

  4. Click the three dots (More) in the top right corner of Chrome.

  5. Select Settings.

  6. Scroll down and click Accessibility.

  7. Find Live Caption and turn it on.

Chrome will now automatically generate captions for any audio or video playing in the browser, including your EventLive stream.

Important Notes for Chrome

  • Live Caption works best in the latest version of Chrome. Make sure your browser is up to date.

  • Captions are generated automatically and may not be perfect.

  • Live Caption is currently available in English only.

Using Safari for Built-In Closed Captioning

Safari also offers built-in captioning features on some devices and versions. Make sure you are using the latest version of Safari.

  1. Open Safari on your device.

  2. Go to your EventLive stream page.

  3. If your device supports it, enable closed captioning or subtitles in your system accessibility settings.

Important Notes for Safari

  • Captioning features may depend on your device and operating system version.

  • If you do not see captions, check your device’s accessibility settings for options like “Live Captions” or “Subtitles & Captioning.”

Additional Tips

  • Chrome’s Live Caption feature works for any video or audio in the browser, not just EventLive.

  • You can find more information about Chrome’s Live Caption feature on the Google Chrome Help page.

Note: EventLive does not control the accuracy or availability of browser-based captions. For the best experience, always use the latest browser version.
