Why Is My Event Time Different From the Time I Selected?

EventLive automatically adjusts event times to match each viewer’s local time zone. This can sometimes cause confusion if you see a different time on your invitation, event page, or app than what you originally set. Here’s how it works and what you can do to make sure your event time is correct.

How EventLive Displays Event Times

  • The event time you set in the Event Details is the official start time, based on the time zone you select. The time zone should be set to where the event will be happening. This is very important, since otherwise you won't be able to live stream your event.

  • When guests view your event page or receive an invitation, the time is automatically converted to their local time zone.

  • This means guests in different locations will see the event start at the same moment, but the displayed time will match their own time zone.

Common Scenarios

  • If you set your event for 4:00 PM Eastern Time, a guest in California (Pacific Time) will see 1:00 PM on their invitation.

  • If you are traveling or viewing your event from a different time zone, you may see the event time displayed in your current location’s time zone.

Troubleshooting Tips

If the Event Time Looks Wrong on Invitations or Event Page

  • Double-check that you have selected the correct time zone in the Event Details.

  • Remember, the time shown to each guest will match their local time zone.

  • If you are testing the invitation or viewing the event from a different location, the time will adjust to your current time zone.

Additional Tips

  • Remind your guests that the event time on their invitation is shown in their local time zone.

  • If you want to double-check how the event time appears for guests in other locations, ask a friend in a different time zone to view the event page
