How to Identify and Resolve Echo Issues During Livestreaming

Echo during a livestream can be distracting for your viewers. Here’s how to quickly identify and fix echo problems when using EventLive.


Common Cause of Echo

The most common reason for echo is when the device you are using to stream picks up sound from another device that is playing the livestream nearby. This creates a loop where the microphone keeps picking up the audio and sending it back into the stream, causing repeated echoes.


How to Fix Echo Issues

Step 1: Check Your Streaming Setup

  1. Make sure the device you are using to stream (phone, tablet, or camera) is not near any device that is playing the livestream.

  2. If you are testing the stream, do not watch the livestream on a device in the same room as your streaming device.

Step 2: Separate Streaming and Viewing Devices

  1. Move the device you are using to watch the livestream to a different room.

  2. Ask someone else in another location to watch and confirm the audio is clear.

  3. If you must monitor the stream, use headphones on the viewing device to prevent sound from leaking into the microphone.

Step 3: Test Again

  1. Start a new test stream.

  2. Speak normally and check if the echo is gone.

  3. If you still hear an echo, double-check that no other devices nearby are playing the livestream.


Troubleshooting Tips

  • If you hear your voice repeated 2-3 times, it is almost always because the streaming device is picking up sound from a nearby device playing the stream.

  • If you need to monitor the stream, use headphones.


Important Notes

  • EventLive is a one-way stream. Viewers cannot be heard by others, so you do not need to worry about muting their microphones.

  • Echo is not caused by the EventLive platform itself, but by the physical setup of your devices.
