You can use the same stream key and event link for different parts of your event (for example, a wedding ceremony and reception) or if you need to pause and restart your stream during the day. Here’s how it works and what you need to know.

Using the Same Stream Key for Multiple Event Parts

  1. Start your stream at the scheduled time.

  2. When you need to pause (for example, between ceremony and reception), stop your stream from your streaming device or software.

  3. When you’re ready to go live again (for example, at the reception), start streaming again using the same stream key and RTMP link.

  4. Repeat as needed within the 24-hour event window from the time you started your live stream.

Important Notes

  • The stream key and event link stay the same for the entire event. Your guests will use the same link to watch all parts of your event.

  • You can start and stop your stream as many times as you need within 24 hours from when you first go live.

  • All video segments will be merged into one replay for your guests after the event.

  • Guests will receive a new email notification each time you go live again, but not more than once every 30 minutes.

Example Scenarios

  • Wedding with Ceremony and Reception:
Start streaming the ceremony, stop when it ends, and start again for the reception. Both parts will be on the same event link.

  • Events with Breaks:
If your event has a break or venue change, just stop and restart the stream as needed.

  • If you want to test before your event:
Use a free test event (Test Live button) to practice starting and stopping your stream.

Warnings and Limitations

  • The 24-hour window starts when you first go live. All parts of your event must be streamed within this period.

Additional Tips

  • Guests will always use the same event link to watch, no matter how many times you start and stop the stream.
