If your EventLive stream is stuttering, pausing, or lagging, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection

  • Make sure you have a strong and stable internet connection.

  • If you are on Wi-Fi, try to be as close as possible to the router.

  • If possible, use a wired connection for more stability.

  • If you are using LTE or 5G, check your signal strength.

Important: Even if your test stream worked fine, the connection can change during the actual event. Always double-check before going live.

Step 2: Test on Different Devices and Browsers

  • Ask viewers to try watching the stream on a different device (phone, tablet, or computer).

  • Try using a different browser (for example, Chrome instead of Safari).

  • Refresh the viewing page if the video freezes or does not start after stopping and restarting the stream.

Step 3: Monitor Viewer Experience

  • If multiple viewers are experiencing the same issue, it may be related to the stream delivery, not your equipment.

  • If the replay works fine but the live stream is lagging, the issue is likely with live delivery to viewers.

Step 4: Restart the Stream

  • If the video is stuck or not playing, stop the stream and start it again.

  • Remind viewers to refresh their browser page after you restart the stream.

Step 5: Check Your Streaming Equipment

  • Make sure your camera and streaming device are working properly.

  • If you are using external encoders (like VidiU Go or Switcher Studio), confirm they are set up correctly.

  • If you had dropped frames at the beginning of your stream, this can cause freezing or stuttering. Try to avoid interruptions at the start.

Step 6: Review Audio and Video Sources

  • If you are using external audio (like a mixer), try switching to direct camera audio to see if the issue improves.

  • Make sure your video and audio sources are synced and set to standard settings (for example, 1080p at 30 FPS).

Step 7: Contact Support

  • If you have tried all the above and the issue continues, contact EventLive support.

  • Provide details such as:

  • The event link

  • The devices and browsers used

  • A description of the problem

  • Any troubleshooting steps you have already tried

Additional Tips

  • A delay of 10-20 seconds is normal for EventLive streams. This is due to the way the video is processed for many viewers.

  • If you stop and restart your stream, viewers may need to refresh the page to continue watching.

  • For the best experience, test your setup before the main event and check both the live and replay versions.

Note: EventLive is designed to be easy to use, but internet quality and device compatibility can affect your stream. Always test ahead of time and have a backup plan if possible.
