One-Way Streaming: What to Expect

EventLive is a one-way live streaming platform. This means:

  • Guests can watch your broadcast, but you cannot see or hear your guests.

  • Guests cannot see or hear each other during the stream.

  • The experience is similar to watching a TV broadcast, not a video call like Zoom.

How Guests Can Interact: The Real-Time Guestbook

EventLive offers a real-time guestbook for interaction during your event. Here’s how it works:

  • Guests can leave messages in the guestbook as the event is happening.

  • Messages appear in real time for everyone to see.

  • Guests can also upload photos to the guestbook.

  • After the event, you can download a PDF with all the messages and photos.

Important Notes

  • Guests do not need to log in or create an account to watch or use the guestbook. They just click the link and join.

  • The guestbook is the main way for guests to interact during the stream.

  • There is no option for guests to speak, appear on video, or be unmuted during the stream.

  • If you want to feature remote speeches or additional speakers, only the host/broadcaster can be on the stream. Guests cannot join the broadcast with video or audio.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If guests cannot see the guestbook, remind them to scroll down the event page.

  • If messages are not appearing, refresh the page or check your internet connection.

  • If a guest cannot upload a photo, make sure the file size is not too large and the internet connection is stable.

Additional Tips

  • You can run a free test event to try out the guestbook and streaming features before your real event.

  • After your event, download the guestbook PDF to keep all the messages and photos as a memory.

  • You can see a sample event page with the guestbook here: Sample Page

Summary

  • EventLive is a one-way stream: guests watch, but are not seen or heard.

  • The guestbook is the main way to interact—guests can send messages and photos in real time.

  • No login is required for guests.

  • Only the host/broadcaster can be on video or audio.
