Web cameras (Such as Logitech)

Other cameras or systems

If your camera's manufacturer doesn't have a utility to convert your camera signal into webcam format you'll need a Hardware HDMI=>USB Capture Card (Such as Elgato Camlink, Magewell, or this cheaper capture card).

Hardware Switchers

If you're planning to live stream professionally with multiple pro cameras, consider getting a hardware switcher, such as BlackMagic ATEM Mini. It supports 4 HDMI inputs, and mic input, USB output.

Minimum output resolution of ATEM is 1080p, which may make it hard to use with low bandwidth on-location internet connections. Consider having a laptop with OBS Studio pre-configured to low-internet settings and 720p streaming as a backup.

Use OBS Studio Software to live stream once you have the camera connected

Follow our guide on how to find your RTMP key and set up OBS Studio

Test your camera to OBS connection in advance. Not all cameras support audio, and you may need a separate microphone to capture sound. Make sure that audio and video is synchronised.
