If your livestream video is freezing, buffering, or jumping forward, follow these steps to fix the issue and prevent it from happening again.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

A weak or unstable internet connection is the most common cause of video freezing during a livestream.

  • Make sure you have a strong Wi-Fi or LTE/5G signal.

  • Stay close to your Wi-Fi router if you are using Wi-Fi.

  • Avoid streaming if your internet is slow or if many people are using the same network at the same time.

  • If possible, ask others not to stream videos or use a lot of bandwidth during your event.

2. Use the EventLive App for Streaming

  • The EventLive app automatically adjusts the video quality to match your internet speed. This helps prevent freezing and buffering.

  • If you are using a GoPro or another camera with a separate app, keep the phone with the app close to the camera to avoid connection drops.

  • For best results, use the EventLive app directly to stream your event.

3. Avoid Watching and Streaming on the Same Network

  • If you are streaming and someone else is watching the livestream in the same house, it can use up your internet bandwidth and cause freezing.

  • Try to limit the number of people watching the livestream from the same internet connection you are using to stream.

4. What to Do If the Video Freezes During Playback

  • Sometimes, if there was a drop in the internet connection during the event, the video may freeze at a certain point but continue after a few seconds. Let the video play and see if it resumes.

  • If the video keeps freezing or buffering during playback, it may be due to poor internet at the time of streaming.

5. Use the Local Recording Feature

  • When you stream with the EventLive app, a recording is saved directly to your phone.

  • If the livestream video is freezing or has interruptions, you can upload the local recording to your event link for a smoother playback experience.

How to Find and Upload Your Local Recording

  1. Find the recorded video on your phone. Where do I find the recording on my device?

  2. Re-upload the video to your event link. How to re-upload event video

6. Additional Tips

  • Test your internet connection before the event by doing a short test stream.

  • If you notice freezing during your test, try moving closer to your router or switching to a different network.

  • If you are using Wi-Fi and have issues, try switching to LTE/5G if available.

Important Notes

  • Freezing and buffering are almost always caused by internet connection issues, either at the streaming location or due to network congestion.

  • The EventLive app is designed to handle changes in internet speed, but a very weak connection can still cause problems.

  • If you experience a freeze during playback, let the video play for a few seconds to see if it continues.
